Who We Are

Closing the rural–urban teaching gap

Bridging Rural Education (BRE) is a Canadian social enterprise focused on professional development and capacity building for rural educators. Founded to address systemic gaps in rural education, BRE delivers targeted training designed for educators working in underserved and remote communities — supporting curriculum development, classroom management, digital integration, and inclusive education so rural students receive high-quality learning opportunities regardless of geography.

Shabana Bhatti
Founder

Shabana Bhatti is an experienced education and development professional with over 20 years of expertise in community-based education, teacher training, gender equality, and capacity building. Her work spans leadership roles with international organizations, NGOs, and large-scale education reform initiatives. She has led curriculum development, teacher training, and professional development programs impacting tens of thousands of educators, and holds academic qualifications in Human Resource Management and Education. Through Bridging Rural Education, she aims to strengthen rural teaching capacity in Canada, promote inclusive education, and create long-term social and economic impact in underserved communities.
